This past weekend was the 1st stop on the UCI World Cup Series in Manchester, England. Our Anthony Dean hooked up with the Australian National Team for the first training camp/trip to Europe of the year. After a successful camp the week leading into the race, Anthony started to feel more comfortable on the big hill.

Once race time arrived, his confidence was really up and he was banging out wins straight away. After a solid win in the semi-final, Anthony knew that the podium was in his reach. Although he didn’t have the best gate he rode a smart, solid lap and secured his spot on the box with his first ever 2nd place on the UCI World Cup podium. We know there is much more to come.

Anthony continues his World tour – now headed for Australia to race the National Championships scheduled in the next couple of weeks. He will then be back on the road again for the second stop of the UCI World Cup Series in Holland. Special thanks to BMX Australia and to all of our team sponsors for supporting our program.

The Chase / Stay Strong Clinic Tour is off to a great start with 3 stops in So-Cal. The team just finished up this past weekend at Hesperia BMX. Again, they were lucky with incredible weather – 80′ in the high desert with a cool breeze. It was great for the team to see so many familiar faces at the clinic and impressive to see the improvements in so many of them. The team looks forward to another visit to Hesperia BMX. Last week we did our first Team photo shoot with both BMX Plus Magazine and a couple of our sponsors, Chase and ANSWR over at Bellflower BMX in So-Cal. It was great to get everyone together- great team bonding and a chance for the guys to have fun riding while grabbing some shots at the same time.

It’s been a great start to the Season for the Chase / Stay Strong Team. We really couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year. First of all, our new AA/Elite rider, Anthony Dean, represented us well at the first few rounds of the Australian National Series down under in Nerang – Queensland. Anthony hit the podium all three days with (2) 1st’s and a 2nd – a solid start to Anthony’s year for sure. After spending some time with the Australian National Team training, Anthony plans to head back to the US to continue preparing for both the USABMX and UCI seasons.

Over in the US, it was the USABMX Season Opener in Reno, Nevada, where both Cristian Becerine and Bryce Betts made their team debut. A great weekend for both guys with Cristian walking away with 2 wins and Bryce securing a solid 3rd in the highly competitive 17/18 Expert class. In short, another great weekend for the team.

A great finish to the weekend with another win for Anthony Dean on Day #3 down under in Australia for the Nerang Nationals. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year and our new program. In addition to Anthony’s results we’ve had a lot of positive feedback from everyone over the last few days and I share all of our thanks to all for that. It goes without saying that it’s been a lot of work to get this going but with a simple goal and plan to work hard all year and grow the program, I’m confident we’ll get there.

Five-time BMX World Champion and British Cycling Hall of Famer, Dale Holmes, has launched Dale Holmes Racing, LLC DBA Chase/Stay Strong BMX Race Team. The team will travel to all USA BMX pro series events, UCI BMX World Cup Races, select Internationals, and The UCI BMX World Championships in Holland.

The team will be owned and managed by Dale Holmes and will include 11-time National Champion and 2008 Olympian, Cristian Becerine, up-and-coming Australian 2013 Series Champion, Anthony Dean (pictured above), as well as US Amateur (17-18 Expert), Bryce Betts.

Dale Holmes Racing will also offer personalized BMX coaching and training for athletes, a nationwide clinic tour at USA BMX sanctioned tracks, and a summer camp partnership with the Toby Wells Foundation & Mission Valley YMCA facilities to offer, “BMX Pro for a Week,” an interactive school nutrition and onsite riding program, “Ride to End Obesity,” at Poway Unified School District sponsored by both Walmart and Barona.
