Five years ago, Gus Cruz showed up to the track for the first time (@sandiegobmxracing) for our BMX Pro For A Week Summer Camp. He experienced BMX for the first time, was instantly hooked, and started racing right away and returned to camp week after week.
Since then, Gus has become a staple of our Dvide Team — winning multiple State Championships, podiuming at Nationals, and racing in two World Championships. Last month, he doubled at the State Championships again (adding two more State titles) and placed 2nd in the Holeshot Challenge.
This weekend, Gus made us all proud once again by winning his first Expert National (11x) at the Fall Nationals in Phoenix, along with two Cruiser wins for the weekend.
Gus also continues to support and give back to our Summer Camps, helping mentor our new campers.
