It’s been a long weekend at the USA BMX Grand Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma – but a great one. A huge turnout – BMX Racing continues to grow here in the US and we’re really excited to be part of it. It’s been our first full year as a team and we feel really good with our progress, as we have not only built a successful BMX Race team but have also ventured into unchartered territory with an onsite school program, Ride to End Obesity, aimed at helping kids lead more healthful lives and to get them excited about BMX. We’ve also forged a partnership with the YMCA of San Diego County to get involved at the grass roots level and to do our part to grow the sport. Our national clinic program continues to expand into more states and it has been very well received.

This past weekend, Anthony Dean continued to build on his first, solid year here in the US. Anthony made both main events at the Grands, which in and of itself is a huge accomplishment given the pool of talent in the Pro/Elite class today. Day #1 didn’t go as planned, with Anthony making few mistakes but he certainly came back strong for Day #2 on Saturday night. Anthony just missed the podium with a 4th but had a great ride.

Cristian Becerine was defending his Vet Pro title, as he’s won it for the past few years. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great night for Cristian as he lost the title to his long-standing rival, Javier Colombo. Congrats to Javier. It was still an amazing year for Cristian with countless wins and podiums.

Bryce Betts was flying the flag for us within the 19-27 Expert class. It was a bummer weekend for Bryce, as he crashed Sunday during open qualifying rounds. Bryce couldn’t quite put it back together and didn’t make the main in class due to not feeling 100%. We’re really proud of Bryce, he’s been an asset both on and off the track and he’s still building a solid future for himself.
